At Natania Kobayashi Counselling, I understand that we can sometimes find ourselves feeling overwhelmed with the struggles in our lives and unable to share them with others. Whether you’re facing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or simply feeling overwhelmed, my in-person therapy sessions provide a safe, suportive space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences in your own time.

Personalised Attention: In individual therapy, you’ll receive one-on-one support tailored to your unique needs and circumstances. We will work together to understand the root causes of your challenges, always keeping you at the centre of the work towards your growth and healing.


Confidential Environment: Your privacy is my priority. My practice adheres to strict confidentiality standards, allowing you to share your thoughts and feelings without fear of judgement or breach of trust.


Empowering Change: With evidence-based therapeutic training, I support clients in uncovering unconscious patterns, developing new perspectives, and empower them to make positive changes in their lives.


What to Expect in a Session


Initial Consultation: The first step in our therapeutic journey is an initial 15-minute phone consultation, where I will briefly get to know you, your background, and your goals for therapy. This is an opportunity for you to ask any questions and discuss what you hope to achieve.


Ongoing Support: Sessions are 50 minutes long and are scheduled weekly, with a recommendation of a minimum of 6 initial sessions. Together, we’ll work through the challenges you’re facing, tailoring the sessions to your specific needs based on Psychodynamic and Person-Centred approaches.


Regular Check-ins: I’ll regularly check in with you to ensure our sessions remain aligned with your evolving hopes and needs.

Q1: How do I know if individual therapy is right for me?

A1: If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or struggling to cope with life’s challenges, individual therapy can provide valuable support. Together, we can explore your feelings and develop a tailored approach to your healing journey.


Q2: How long does therapy take?

A2: The duration of therapy varies for each individual. Some clients may find relief in just a few sessions, while others may benefit from ongoing support. We’ll work together to determine the best pace for you.


Q3: What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

A3: Life can be unpredictable, and I understand that plans change. I kindly ask for 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment to avoid cancellation fees.


Q4: Where is your in-person office based?

A4: I have two offices both based in Surbiton, KT6, London. Once we have agreed our initial appointment I will send you all the details you need to find the office I will be seeing you from.


Q5: Can I bring someone with me to therapy for support?

A5: I recommend coming to sessions alone as having someone else in the room can hinder the process of therapy. However, if you would like someone to accompany you to my office, they can wait for you in the waiting area or have a coffee nearby.


Q6: Will I have to talk about everything in my life, or can I focus on specific issues?

A6: During our initial session I will ask broader questions about you and your life to build a picture about who you are. However, during the therapeutic work, we will focus on the specific issues that you wish to discuss. If there are topics you don’t want to talk about, we don’t have to talk about them!
